Ultimate Coffee Date #25

My apologies for my late coffee date.

I was away for the weekend because it was my sister birthday, so my apologies that I was a no show for our date.

Point Cook BeachFamily does come first though.

So thanks for letting catch up with you now.

Sit down grab a drink and lets catch up.  Today I am choosing a hot chocolate, because it’s winter and it’s cold, and it’s comforting.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you that I officially started a new training plan.

I decided to get a custom training plan made up by a running coach. I chose Chris from Go Run.

The reason why I decided to get a custom training plan was because the event I’m training Peaks & Trails is an odd distance of 26km.

Peaks & Trails DunkeldI’m so looking forward to this event.

I wanted to do the 26km last year, but due to time commitments I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get the extra distance and elevation training in.

So I made a decision that I would do this one in 2016.

Which comes back to the plan.

All free training plans online are for 5km, 10km half or full marathon distance.

My event is neither of those.

The other thing I wanted to take into account it that my event is not a road event but a trail event.

So as a birthday present to myself I decided to bite the bullet and get a custom made plan to suit me and my event.

I am totally loving the training plan and it suits me and my lifestyle perfectly.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you that yes all my long runs have been out on the trails, and it has been fantastic!

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you, that all that trail running means I clocked up a total of 153km for the month of June.

That means that June has been my best month of running since March.

Total to date: 756km
Yearly prediction: 1512km
Best Month: June with 153km
Monthly Average: 126km

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you, that all that trail running means I finally achieved the Strava Climbing Challenge.

The challenge was to climb 2,000 meters of elevation.

I have never achieved this goal.  Now I have.  In fact not only did I achieve it I smashed it by climbing 2,956m for the month.

July’s Strava Climbing Challenge is set at 3,000m. Somehow I think I’ll just make it.

If we were sitting down for coffee, what would you tell me?
