Read Books

May-Button-ClaireyEarlier this year, I set a goal to read 60 books.

I know some of you may seem that is a lot of books, but it’s essentially 1.15 books a week.

Last year I had a goal to read 52 books.  It initially was 40 books, but when I got to the half way mark of 20 by the end of April I thought I would up the anti.

Which is why I have set a goal of 60 this year.

So how is it going? Well it’s going great. Infact I may need to increase my goal.  However my current list does include some short ebooks and cookbooks, and I’m not too sure if they technically count.

Here are the list of books I have read so far (in order):

Yes I have read some fantastic books, like Me Before You, Fractured and The Truth about Leo

Unfortunately I have read some really crap books and books that I thought were going to be awesome but a huge let down.

Reading can be pot luck. Sometimes you get gems, other times you get duds.

At the moment I have a few books on the go.  Yes I have 4 (four), 3 (three) of them are non fiction, and I can only take a bit at a time. The main non fiction book I just started is The Hunt which is kind of like a cross between Twilight and Hunger Games.  Since I loved both of those series, I have a feeling (and I’m only 30 pages in), that I’m going to thoroughly enjoy this one.

I will be honest with you and let you know that I was never a huge reader as a kid. It’s only now as an adult that I have gotten more out of reading.  Because I enjoy reading my kids love it too.

Kayla is really into Rainbow Magic, while Miles loves Where’s Wally. Either way they are having a love of books and reading. One thing for sure I going to continue to encourage them to read.

Edit: When I wrote this post, I was reading The Hunt.  I finished it on 13th May.  Let me say wow, loved it.  Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.  Luckily our library has the series, so I can easily borrow it.
