One day while browsing pinterest I came across this recipe.
It’s called Almond Butter & Banana Sandwich. I’m calling it a split, as well it’s more like a split than a sandwich.
When I saw this recipe I thought to myself, “wow this is really simple and easy, and best part I have all the ingrediants already.”
I did have to modify it to make it Whole30 approved, and if anything I think the modification is better. The version I will give you is my modification. But if you would like the original recipe click here.
- 1 small/medium banana
- 1 TBSP almond butter
- 1 Tsp Tahini
- ¼ c blueberries
- 1 Tsp dessicated coconut
- Peal the banana, and slice lengthways
- Mix the almond butter and tahini, and spread on the banana
- Cover with blueberries
- Sprinkle with dessicated coconut
If you don't have blueberries try it with dried fruit.
If using a larger banana increase the size of almond butter/tahini
You can use sunbutter as an alternative to almond butter
I’m also using the easy recipes plugin so you can now print with ease (or save as a pdf).
Anyway here is my result, it’s from twitter, but it gives you a result of how it turned out the 1st time I made it

My son thought what I was eating was gross. I told him “You can’t say it’s gross when you’ve never tired it before”. He then had a bite, and then proceeded to wanted his own or the rest of mine. This is happening just as my daughter is eating the last banana. Luckily she only ate half, so I made a serving for him with a half eaten banana. He didn’t care, he loved it.
