Whole30: Self-Evaluation

So I signed up for the Whole30 Challenge last week, and they have already put me to work!  But it’s all good, I actually like the preparation.  I know for some people they are like “why do I have to do this?”.  But I totally understand, it’s getting me ready for what’s to come.

Worksheet 1 – Goal-setting for your Whole30

Melissa and Dallas have kindly broken it down into 9 factors for optimal health.  Everyone’s 9 factors are going to be different.  I’m putting it out there and telling you mine.

Nutrition
I will eat my main meals (breakfast,  lunch & dinner) at the table

Sleep
I will turn off the tv/computer by 9pm (1 hour before bed)

Stress Management
I will not take my stress out on my kids.  I will count to 8 or walk away so I don’t yell at them

Exercise
I will run 3 days, strength train 3 days and do yoga 1 day (total of 6 days) a week.

Active Recovery
I will stretch after each workout and foam roll everyday

Injury Rehab
I will work on my back and core strength.

Fun and Play
For at least 4 days (weekends) we will go out as a family and do a fun family activity.

Personal Growth
I will read 4 books.  Two will be fiction, 2 will be non fiction.  This can be with my eyes or via audiobook.

Temperance
I will not be at the computer before 10am for the next 30 days.

As you can see I have some very specific goals.  I personally find that important.  Like in the temperance goal, I am such a time waster in the morning when it comes to the computer.  So this one is going to be a bit of a challenge, but it’s going to be a good one for me.

In two weeks time I will give you an update on how these goals are coming along, and then a reassessment at the end of the challenge.

Wish me luck!
