July is pretty much over, like WOW. I know I said it last month, and I will most likely say it next month too, but holey moley this year is FLYING by!
So July saw a variety of different fitness Challenges which I enjoyed, but now I want to challenge myself in the Health department.
I’ve been listening now to the Smarter Science of Slim podcast for 9 months, and I have gotten a whole wealth of knowledge from Jonathan, Carrie and all the guests featured on the show. One of the guests featured on one of the bonus episodes was Melissa and Dallas Hartwig. A seriously Fantastic story, and if you want to know more about them then you should totally check out their website Whole9.
Which comes to Whole30.
Their book “It starts with food” has been on my reading list for about 6th months.
I started reading this book on 19th July, and it is so easy to read and understand. It basically just reinforces all the things I have learned over the last year when it comes to food and the things you eat.
Even thought I have been at my goal weight now for about a year, I’m not stopping there. There is still so much to learn when it comes to your health. And so even though I’m pretty fit, my diet could still use a bit of a clean up. Which is where this 30 day challenge comes in. It’s going to be a good kick up the bum for me, and it’s going to be a challenge. Cause well I like cake, and cookies and all that junk. However I know when I eat that stuff I feel yuck, like bloated, and stomach pains and all that jazz yuck. Who wants to feel like that? No not I.
The other thing is my kiddies. Yep reading all this information on food has really got me thinking about them and their intolerances and allergies. I know that if I make a change then they will gradually follow. I’m not going to force it down on them, but I am the cook in this house, so therefore it is I who needs to arm them with the best immune system as possible.
It’s always a good time to change. I can do this. I know it’s going to be challenging, but as the saying goes “if it where easy, then wouldn’t everyone be doing it?”.
Giving up dairy, more specifically cheese is going to be hard for me. I love cheese. Cheese I’m already mourning you. This also means no yoghurt (I make my own anyway), or whey. My favourite Carrie dishes will be out 🙁 but I will a replacement. I mean it’s only going to be 30 days.
My Whole30 challenge will be starting 1st August. It will be interesting to say the least, and well you will be hearing about it for sure. As I’m sure some of you will be very interested. I’m also sure I’m going to have a lot of ups, and a few downs, but we’ll see.
